Smallbore target rifle competitions are shot over distances of 25, 50 and 100 yards at the Club range.
The NSRA is the national governing body for smallbore rifle shooting in the UK. The Suffolk County Rifle Association deals with county level target rifle shooting. Another of our members runs the SCRA smallbore section website.
The club can help with equipment for new members before they buy their own. In fact we probably have sufficient for most people to start target shooting with no equipment of their own. We also have a county coach and a number of club coaches who will be happy to help newcomers to the sport.
Their is an obvious need for anyone wishing to take up the sport to be strong enough to handle the rifle you will use. Generally this requires youngsters to be about 14 years old and above. The only way to be sure is to come and give it a go. The sport requires discipline and commitment to compete at any level but most of us in the club have a lot of fun shooting against each other.
We hope to interest you! If you would like to meet some of the target shooters at the club then pop in on a Tue evening between 7:30 and 9:00.
