On the 2nd of November the Trimley Estate Masterplan was publshed. This is in response to SCDC's emerging planning policy and vision for the future.

The initial reacton of most club members to this news has been dismay. It is a simple fact that our club's location is being considered for development. However the club chairman and committee members are already doing a great deal behind the scenes and nothing is likely to change for a few years yet.

There is no way that we can hope to compete on commercial terms. Our only option to ensure the club's future is to demonstrate our value within the local community.

This will require more effort on the part of club members to encourage new blood within the club, particularly junior members. We already run beginners nights twice a month in addition to regular evenings.

We are fortunate to have several club instructors who take time out to assist new shooters and coaching other club members. We do however need more instructors and enthusiasts to help with beginners nights. Please volunteer if you can.

If anyone has any constructive suggestions please make a member of the committee aware.

We have excellent facilities and a great club. It is always disappointing to hear people saying 'I didn't even know there was a local club', even a local councillor was unaware. This has to change. We need to become a part of the local community and should be proud of who we are and what we do. We must make sure other local people know about us and are aware of what we offer.

On a good note the club website/calendar appears on the first page of Google for a number of relevant searches! We have had several people contact us via the site and hope to have many more.
