Welcome to the Felixstowe Rifle Club

Picture
The club was formed in around 1900 as the Felixstowe Rifle Club and used the Army Ranges at Landguard Common (now part of the nature reserve).

During World War 2 it became Felixstowe Home Guard Rifle Club.  At that time it used the present site with the permission of Mr Clement-Smith and the Drill Hall in Garrison Lane.  In 1955 the title was changed back to Felixstowe Rifle Club (FRC) which was the beginning of the club as it is today.

 Currently there are around 100 members and the club caters for a variety of different shooting disciplines;

  • Target shooting for the blind
  • Small-bore target shooting
  • Air rifle and pistol
  • Pistol calibre carbine and lightweight sporting rifle
  • Black powder rifle and pistol

Club members participate in numerous competitions every year ranging from club to national level.  We also partner with a shooting club in Wesel, Germany and arrange visits between the clubs each year to shoot an annual competition.

In 2012 the club was used as a training venue by Sakina Mamedova of the Uzbekistan Olympic shooting team.  To view the media coverage please click on the links below;
